As the Head of Cyber Security Penetration Testing , you will act as a key leader to drive the implementation of business goals, provide technical expertise, leadership, management and inspiration to the Cyber security and Information Resilience Testing team. It is therefore essential that the role holder is a technical expert in Cyber security and Information Resilience and associated industry best practice.
This role is as a support function to the Head of BSI CSIR US Service Delivery and exists to:
- Oversee the delivery of the full portfolio of Security Testing Projects in the US
- Communicate and implement the global BSI Business strategy within the CSIR US Security Testing Team
- Support, lead, and manage Security Testing Directors
- Provide regular feedback and reports to the Head of BSI CSIR US Service Delivery on delivery activity
- Assist and support the Head of BSI CSIR US Service Delivery in the sales and delivery processes as required
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Conduct annual performance reviews of Security Testing Directors
- Hold regular one-on-one meetings with Security Testing Directors
- Hold regular meetings with Heads in CSIR US, CSIR UK, and CSIR Ireland
- Monitor service quality within the US Security Testing team and implement corrective and preventative actions as required
- Escalate service delivery or personnel issues to Head of BSI CSIR US Service Delivery as required
- Ensure Statements of Work are accurately written and delivered within an acceptable time frame
- Ensure Statements of Work are executed according to scope, budget, and expected time frames
- Ensure US Security Testing team capacity and capabilities are sufficient to meet current and expected demand
- Support recruitment and on boarding of new team members
- Ensure a robust plan is in place to maintain training and certification levels within the Security Testing Team
- Maintaining applicable team and organization accreditations
- Ensure industry testing requirements (like PCI DSS) are met to specification
- Act as point of escalation for Security Testing Directors in relation to customer issues
- Monitor customer satisfaction for the Security Testing Team and ensure any client complaints or queries are addressed in a timely manner
- Supporting practice development and integration activities
- To carry out any other duties as can reasonably be expected for this role
The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Related Industry Certifications
- Senior Level in one or more skill streams
- Proven track record for delivery of multiple complex projects in challenging environments
- PCI QSA Credential (Preferred)
- Engaging & highly skilled communicator, able to convey clear messages in a compelling and coherent way
- Ability to contribute to and support Sales and Pre-Sales activities
- Ability to coach and effectively develop talented individuals and to address poor performance
- Displaying a real understanding of our customers and the need to add value
- Up to date with industry good practice in terms of compliance and technical security controls and techniques
- IT and technically competent
- Conceptual and analytical thinking, efficiency and results orientation
