The responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Support the Global Head of Credit on strategic, operational and daily business matters.
- Partner with the business head to define the global Credit Strategy; driving and implementing associated new business initiatives.
- Work within the broader Derivatives & Solutions COO team and with key stakeholders in the first and second line of defense to identify and address gaps in the Front to Back (F2B) control framework, mitigating risks impacting the business.
- Run weekly & monthly governance forums with F2B stakeholders with a view of identifying and controlling issues impacting the FTB control framework.
- Work closely with project teams (regulatory, operational risk, technology, business) to deliver seamless implementation of change projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory and audit (internal & external) related matters.
- Manage a team of 2 direct reports in London and New York and help prioritizing the global agenda.
- Independent leadership of special projects while operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
Your team
The Global Credit Operating Officer role deals with a broad range of deliverables, including the Front to Back Governance and Risk framework, Regulatory change, and support of the Global Head of Credit. Reporting into Co-Global Operating Officers for Derivatives & Solutions, you will actively drive the Global Credit business forward together with the Global Head of Credit. Together with team members in London, New York and Hong Kong, you will manage the front to back on behalf of the Credit Business and help implementing the Business Strategy.
Your expertise
- At least 5 to 8 years of relevant work experience, including similar positions in a financial institution and/or consulting firm background.
- A high performing individual with strong understanding and knowledge of UBS or similar institution, its businesses, the opportunities and challenges confronting the industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of front to back processes, sensitivity towards a diverse workforce on the trading floor.
- Proven track record of operating in a global matrix environment, driving consensus and ability to constructively challenge.
- Able to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced trading environment.
