SCOPE & PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role acts primarily as the deputy/proxy for the Global CEO on all matters; additionally he/she holds specific responsibility for scaling global operations to bring the Cadreon offering and capability to Cadreon offices worldwide, focusing on:

  • Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness
  • Client Success – Partnership with clients and IPG agencies
  • Business Development & Commercial Negotiations
  • Governance in partnership with IPG agencies and groups
  • Designing and rolling out our offering and product packaging

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

The incumbent must build and maintain strong relationships with the following:

  • Cadreon Global Leadership Team
  • The Mediabrands team, including both the agency and office leads, the client managing partners, and the functional leaders
  • Key clients as directed and appropriate
  • Global Brand Leads (UM, Initiative), and their GMPs
  • IPG Corporate and other IPG Agencies
  • Regional CEOs, Chief Client Officer, CFOs

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Client Success – Partnership with clients and IPG agencies

    • In conjunction with the CFO, organize and lead the schedule of forward planning for all key client businesses, including the definition of standard templates, review of all commercial aspects, identification of organic revenue opportunities, assessment of relationships, etc.
    • Lead and coach the Global Client Managing Partner, by holding regular status meetings, challenging and advising on an individual basis, monitoring service and product levels, etc.
    • Lead or support, where appropriate, all commercial aspects of client contract negotiations, both for new and existing clients, recommending and reviewing pricing and other commercial terms, advising on viability of commitments (e.g. buying), meeting with client negotiation teams, etc.
  • Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness

    • In conjunction with the CEO define annual priority needs in terms of Product, Capability, Structure, Tools, and work with them to produce an operational plan which aims to deliver against these prioritized needs across the Cadreon network
    • Participate in and lead, where appropriate, planning and strategy around the drive to automation as well as offshoring– acting as the bridging point within Cadreon and across IPG agencies to identify blockages and resolve problems through direction, coaching, and facilitation
    • Deputize for the Global CEO, running meetings and acting as spokesperson and ambassador in his/her absence
  • Business Development & Commercial Negotiations

    • Take responsibility of Global Client Officer & his/her teams in order to drive alignment of Cadreon priorities with all key account leaders
    • Monitor and review the success/effectiveness of all major organizational development and change initiatives, including channel-less media, offshoring and automation, taking timely remedial action to address issues and making appropriate recommendations for change of strategy and approach where this is appropriate
  • Operations and People:

    • In conjunction with the CFO, lead and manage the financial review/planning processes, ensuring that these are structured and planned with clear objectives and follow-up.
    • Identify, develop and execute operational initiatives which support innovation, improve client service/satisfaction and create business efficiencies
    • Lead projects to get critical work done
    • Contribute to the design and execution of appropriate organizational structures, which enable the organization to achieve its objectives
    • In conjunction with the CHRO, develop internal communications strategies which aim to strengthen and differentiate the organizational culture, reinforce our values, and engage our people in the collective effort required to achieve our targets
    • Support the HR team with key initiatives, acting as sounding board, executive sponsor and business lead where appropriate, in order to drive commitment and adoption
    • Mentor key executives in critical roles (e.g. Key markets, regional leads) as agreed

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Sound understanding of all commercial levers and options for constructing profitable client contractual relationships and terms, with proven ability to negotiate successfully with clients (both Marketing & Procurement)
  • Sound understanding of the various businesses that exist in the ‘modern media agency’ with an eye on future developments and opportunities that could become commercially scalable
  • A consummate, proactive communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • AdTech and MarTech background and a keen data fluency
  • Ability to build relationships with people at all levels of an organization, irrespective of role and status
  • Ability to take a bigger picture strategic perspective, balanced with an eye for details and a willingness to roll sleeves up to get the job done
  • Extensive experience of successfully pitching new business
