The Vice President of Physician Services supports PSG’s Mission, Vision and Values, as well as demonstrates the company’s code of conduct in all duties. Provides support to Hospital facilities operations management related to Physicians. Provides division-level leadership, direction and ongoing administration and management for all aspects of physician operations.

Oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of all division based employed and managed Physician practices and advanced practice providers from 170 to 650+ ranging from in size from 35 to in excess of 130 practice locations, generating visits in excess of 1.5M annually and operating budgets to $365M+.

Position encompasses broad geographic territories, often multi-state responsibility and numerous HCA affiliated hospital relations. Physician portfolio consist of primary care, specialist, and subspecialist who practice in both hospital and outpatient settings. Ensures regulatory and HCA policies and procedures related to division clinical operations are implemented for efficient, effective manner. Has overall responsibility for all aspects of the development and implementation of compliance, training and education, policies and procedures, best practices.

Provides leadership and ensures delivery of operational goals related to acquisition and divestiture activities. Travels locally to represent PSG to corporate stakeholders within division and markets up to 30% of work time.


Develops Strategy

  • Delivers creative and innovative solutions to CEOs and Division Leadership teams, related to the physician needs of HCA hospital facilities.

  • Works effectively with HCA Physician Services management and support teams while serving as liaison to hospital CEOs and Division management to meet their physician needs.

  • Makes timely informed decision that are in the best interest of patients, employees, providers, community and HCA.

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation, removed barriers and resistance, and enabled desirable behavior.

  • Commits to the success and financial wellbeing of HCA by challenging others to excel and holding themselves and other accountable for achieving results.

Operational Efficiency

  • Oversees executive leaders to ensure physician practices are operated in accordance with HCA Physician Services Group standards and policies.

Finance

  • Executes physician employment and professional services contracts in accordance with hospital CEO and Division management expectations while insuring compliance with all applicable regulatory authorities and HCA policies.

  • Participate as part of the HCA Physician Services team of Operations VP’s address planning, budgets, new products and services, compliance, and other physician practice issues.

  • Conducts MORs, meetings, conference calls necessary to properly manage our business.

  • Oversee and manage HCA employed physician practices and insure they are operated in accordance with Physician Services standards and policies.

  • Serve as a representative for HCA Physician Services products and services to physicians affiliated with HCA hospitals.

  • Serve as the integral link between HCA Physician Services and the end users to enhance the use and effectiveness of its products and services.

  • Oversee and support the due diligence process of practice acquisitions and divestitures.

People

  • Serves as the chief point of contact for our employed physicians, developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships.

  • Work effectively with the physician recruiting function of HCA Physician Services and hospital liaisons to support the placement of qualified physicians in HCA market.

  • Builds a competitively superior organization by attracting, developing, and retaining division-level talent to meet workforce, skill, and business needs.

  • Ensure that HCA Physician Services compliance, training and education, policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs.

  • Maintain strictest confidentiality in the areas of patient, employee and physician relations.

  • Delivers information in a clear, concise, compelling manner to effectively engage others and achieve desired results.

  • Builds trust and acts with authenticity to cultivate a culture of integrity, inclusion, and mutual respect.

  • Develops and strengthens collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to advance the care of patients and the growth of HCA.

  • Leads division leaders to accomplish organizational goals and objectives; provides meaningful coaching and mentoring to increase the capabilities of individuals and teams and drives employee engagement.
