We are seeking an experienced, Information Technology (IT) professional with expertise in designing and administering server and network systems, storage solutions, virtual environments, Windows and networking environments, etc., to work with our senior team of IT and business professionals on various IT assessment, strategic technology planning and project implementation engagements for our mid-Atlantic, mid-market clients. Candidates must be able to provide network architecture, evaluation and planning services to our customers, coupled with a strong business perspective in order to provide balanced advisory services with respect to business impact, risk, opportunity, etc. in relation to any recommendation we might make. The following describes some of the expectations for this position:

  • Lead the Infrastructure Evaluation portion of our IT assessments. Research and provide data to the team in order to answer questions such as: Is the network appropriate to meet the current and future business needs of the company? Is it scalable? What risks are associated with the current infrastructure?
  • Implement appropriate technical solutions, actively seeking ways to leverage the integration of business processes with applicable emerging technologies in order to improve and streamline operations and services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Promote a sustainable technology framework and coordinate related systems.
  • Assume project management responsibilities on assigned projects that require research, data collection, critical thinking, technical expertise, and a high level of independence in support of long range planning activities.
  • Manage network and server infrastructure in client environments ensuring the environment is properly maintained and proactively monitored to ensure adequate capacity to support business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-7+ years progressively responsible, related experience and enthusiasm for working in a consulting role for multiple clients desired.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and high volume workload. Strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • Initiative to identify and communicate opportunities to contribute additional value to existing and prospective clients.
  • Self-motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative.
  • Broad and deep technical skills in the following areas:
    • Expertise in Microsoft server technologies, including Active Directory and Terminal Services
    • VMware/virtualization experience
    • SAN experience
    • Proficiency in supporting desktop operating systems
    • Solid understanding of database support and maintenance
    • Network skills including support of a WAN infrastructure with remote users and facilities
    • Experience with VoIP phone systems

EDUCATION:

Equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Business/Finance is preferred
