Job Summary
Travelers Claim Technology is currently seeking an Intelligent Automation (IA) Scrum Master to join a brand-new IA Team! Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
The Scrum Master is a key leadership role on the Claim Technology IA team, responsible for championing the Agile mindset within the development teams and facilitating the execution of business projects to automate new or enhance existing business processes.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to:
- Diligently apply Scrum principles, practices and theory to facilitate the completion of work that delivers business value and meets the needs of our customers.
- Champion all things SAFe, educate and lead development teams through successful Program Increments
- Collaborate with the Product Manager and other Product Owners and coach on Agile practices.
- Support the team by employing a servant-leadership style, removing impediments and leading by example.
- Protect the scrum team from external distractions, keeping them focused on delivering high quality, valuable code
- Assess the maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of achievement, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
- Address and remove roadblocks; refocus stuck teams
- Foster a cohesive, team-focused environment through influencing behaviors; not command and control actions.
This job does not manage others, although through a matrixed relationship is responsible for leadership of their agile teams and providing input into performance evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 2 years of project management experience required.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
- Requires a bachelor’s Degree with focus on science and/or technology
- 3-5 years hands on software delivery experience
- Demonstrated success partnering with business SMEs and Leadership
- Expert working knowledge of Agile Frameworks, Scrum and/or SAFe
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies with a variety of software delivery resources
- Certified Scrum Master, CSM or SSM (Safe 4)
- Knowledge of process optimization methodologies, such as Six Sigma and/or Lean
- Ability to gain broad understanding of overall software delivery roadmaps and related strategies
- Experience with small to large projects of varying complexity
- Ability to influence and foster buy in at all levels
- Strong communication skills: verbal, written, listening to various levels across the organization
- Working knowledge of Agile management tools, such as Rally and/or JIRA
