*Position Description
*
The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA), a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health of Hispanics and other under-served populations, is seeking to add an ambitious and high-energy individual to its management team. The Chief Operating Officer will lead all operational and administrative aspects of the organization and, reporting to the NHMA President and CEO, help to shape both program and development strategy for the organization. *_Responsibilities:

*_Strategic Planning and Performance Management of Programs
_* * Participate or lead in planning, development and implementation of strategy for operations and program management to meet the goal of a sustainable organization.
- Direct organizationâs operations to meet budget and other financial goals with the guidance of the
President and CEO and the Board of Directors.
- Lead the development of the annual program plan and budget with the President and CEO and
Controller that fully supports NHMAâs business model and core values as driven by its mission.
*_Team Leadership
_* * Motivate project management to a high level of performance and accountability in high volume, fast- paced environment. Coach staff and recommend training if necessary and set team and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with requesters/clients and support teams (designers, writers, web production, media optimization, etc.). Facilitate a collaborative work.
- Lead the planning and prioritization of projects. Use best practices to create schedule templates and apply timelines for event promotions done at least a month prior, and resources as needed. Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the life of the project.
- Manage and facilitate projects with the Controller
- Report to the CEO on all program activities weekly in person or in writing.
*_Grants and Contract Management
_* * Participate with grant writing and development, including meetings with potential funding agencies/corporations/donors.
- Oversee grant applications, and following up on approvals (declines) of grant requests. Manage with the Controller receipt of grant monies and ensure accurate application of funds and grant reporting and compliance.
- Oversee all bids and proposal processes.
- Coordinate project teams and client contracting staff to resolve any contractual issues and ensure timely billing.

HR and Administration
_* * Manage HR administration processes including employee benefits, recruiting, and HR policies.
- Manage facilities infrastructure including office environment and administrative staff.
- Advise on other management and operational matters including IT and facilities.
Requirements and Job Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience at leadership level, staff supervision and management of operations. Solid educational background including an undergraduate degree.
- Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organization-wide strategy for program excellence, engaging community partners, and working diligently with the President and CEO.
- Solid working knowledge of budgeting and financial management, business development and strategic planning.
- Demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence in her/his work, and has experience of leading others to new levels of effectiveness and programmatic impact.
- Must work, at a minimum, in the office from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm M-F

Salary Range: $80,000 – $125,000
