We are looking for a self-driving,
innovative entry level Scrum Master to support our growing community of
engineering and product teams. Excellent candidates will be collaborative,
continually improving and work well in a rapidly growing, vibrant workplace.
Your role will be as servant leader for 2-3 scrum teams and help support our
agile development process. You will be collaborating with engineering, product
management, and quality assurance to deliver value on concurrent projects.
Working in conjunction with an Agile Coach, you will be able to help
continually seek to improve our processes and practices.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Understands Agile values and principles and can guide
    and coach teams, and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  • Provide support to the Product Owner and Development
    Team, and lead by example. You should personify Scrum and Agile values
  • Guide and coach delivery teams to self-organize and
    achieve objectives, without assigning or dictating the work Mobilize new
    teams, in partnership with and Agile coach, to Agile practices and values.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies efficiently to help
    team realize the value of the meetings.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict
    resolution. Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can
    be raised and resolved Work effectively with management and team members
    to clarify needs and plan delivery of major product changes, future
    versions and new products
  • Work to proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues,
    and dependencies, ensuring that they are identified, coordinated,
    mitigated or escalated as necessary.
  • Work with Product Owner and Development Team to
    facilitate effective sprints by removing impediments and ensuring that
    stories are ‘sprint ready’
  • Review current agile processes, demonstrate
    servant-leadership while guiding the team to improve their processes while
    challenging them to innovate
  • Help foster an environment that empowers and energizes
    team members, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, and
    collaboration.
  • Contribute to building a culture where continuous
    improvement is in focus
  • Continually grow skills to enhance your expertise and
    help the business grow
  • Assist with internal and external communication,
    improving transparency, and information radiation


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Entry level understanding of Scrum practices
  • A clear understanding of Agile methodologies, values,
    and procedures
  • Possess emerging leadership skills to motivate scrum
    teams to perform at their best
  • Good skills and knowledge of facilitation techniques,
    servant leadership, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual
    improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Exposure to Agile PLM tools like JIRA, Rally,
    VersionOne, etc.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking, Scrum and Kanban
    based metrics, task definition, and story splitting.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Experience in sprint & release planning, running
    demos and retrospectives
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and strong reasoning skills
    as well as good analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Professional experience in the financial services
    industry a plus
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scrum,
    and Kanban
  • Experience being on a Scrum team in a variety of
    different contexts (diverse team sizes, organizations, cultures,
    co-located vs. distributed, etc)
  • Track record of continued and recent education in
    Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self study, etc.
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile
    space: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful
    Agile techniques: ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing,
    Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the
    team
Education, Certifications and/or
Other Professional Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, management information
    systems, or related disciplines
