Position: Assistant Project Manager

There is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the Construction team in Los Angeles/Long Beach as an Assistant Project Manager. This person will be assisting in overseeing one of our many real estate development projects. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong initiative and an ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of constituents; and has proven capabilities in multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing workloads.

This diverse company is vertically integrated with in-house departments responsible for execution of the company’s activities including property development, construction and management as well as leasing, sales and marketing.


Responsibilities of Project Team Leader:

  • Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting Project Managers and/or Superintendents in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met.
  • Align projects with Onni’s high standards, and report to directors


Duties:

Scheduling:

  • Developing, tracking, and maintaining project schedules
  • Reviewing critical path, and quickly adapting or accelerating projects to meet deadlines
  • Reporting, and updating directors of project schedule

Management and Leadership:

  • Oversee tendering process and contract administrator
  • Overall planning and defining of project scope for all subcontractors, and employees
  • Project resource allocation from internal and external resources.
  • Project documentation, communication and reporting
  • Cost estimating, and budget development in collaboration with senior directors
  • Quality Control
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans if required
  • Ongoing troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Oversee project team including Project Coordinators, Superintendents and Project Engineers
  • Ensure project is built on budget, on schedule and on drawing specifications


Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial or multifamily residential construction related experience
  • Experience overseeing large high-rise and podium multifamily and commercial projects an asset
  • Certificate, University degree, or college diploma would be an asset
  • Project Management education an asset
