To help achieve our goal of improving the home search experience for all New Yorkers, StreetEasy is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to play a pivotal role in the growth of our business by working with Agile teams to define and execute on project plans.

This role has two key, sometimes conflicting responsibilities. The best candidates will know how to balance between the two – coaching and managing – to keep the organization moving forward.
About the role
- Scrum Master: In this capacity, you act as the go-to person on each of your assigned scrum teams to facilitate scrum ceremonies, unblock team members, ‘own’ processes, and coach/motivate the team so they evolve to the point where they are completely self-sufficient.
- Technical Project Manager: You will manage cross-team dependencies and use standard project management techniques and company knowledge to drive projects forward. This includes driving consensus in ambiguous situations. You will be the authority on dates and risks, the most abreast of project status from across all the disciplines, and be able to communicate this to various company stakeholders in their language.
- People skills: You foster a collaborative, team orientation among the people you work with and know when to lead, cajole, and encourage them to become better at what they do. You model the environment we want to work in by always acting with integrity, compassion, and positivity.
- Attention to detail: You are efficient (and help others be efficient), have great follow-through, and are good at documentation. Moreover, you understand when not to build a process in the first place.
- Project Management & Collaboration: You are curious, proactive, tenacious, and have a strong belief in saying what you do and doing what you say. You excel at keeping the right people informed; reducing ambiguity along the way. Rather than trying to adhere to what was said, you can to pivot and manage the change.

- Technical, Product and an Eye for business – You have an ability and willingness to learn, understand, and advocate for the business of StreetEasy and its products. You also know that understanding the basics of the technology used to build those products helps you navigate the organization and issues.
Areas of Focus include:
- Provide transparency to the wider organization by writing meaningful Release Notes
- Improve estimates via the use of metrics
- Foster cross-team collaboration via monitoring JIRA tickets and facilitating various meetings
- Run regular reports for scrum teams to help them understand and manage their work
- Identify systemic organizational and process issues and propose solutions
Who you are
- Certified Scrum Master
- Minimum of 2 year’s experience actively using JIRA
- Minimum of 3 year’s experience in an agile software development environment
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Docs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with remote teams
