System Engineer / Scrum Master

Position Description:

MetaPhase is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer / Scrum Master with 8+ years of experience to join our Federal IT transformation team supporting requirements gathering, systems implementation / migration, and process improvements with the Peace Corps.

This team works in tandem to support agency specific legacy modernization as well as system migrations into Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution – gathering high level business requirements, developing cost estimates, and working internally with senior executive leadership from all divisions of the IT organization and agency to identify, communicate and meet customer needs.

Specific Duties:

  • Educate customer stakeholders and team members at all levels on Agile principles, providing them with tools for implementing the process in their own work

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate agile ceremonies

  • Work closely with product owners, end-users, and other stakeholders via working sessions, interviews, and surveys to discover, document and maintain a set of comprehensive requirements via user stories/epics and roadmaps

  • Lead or support prioritization and backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, product demos, and sprint retrospectives

  • Support testing activities and support development teams throughout sprints

  • Support client User Acceptance Testing, provide client testers with functional support, review and validate issues, and work with development team to address valid issues

  • Create documentation to meet client SDLC requirements and gate review processes

  • Produce professional, client-ready materials in a fast paced environment for presentation to key project stakeholders.

  • Provide a range of support functions, including meeting coordination, and action item tracking.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • 8+ total years experience; min. 4+ years working in an Agile development environment in product/software delivery organizations (e.g. Scrum, Lean Agile, XP, Kanban and other Agile development techniques)

  • 1+ years in a scrum master role and/or Agile Certification (e.g. CSM, CEC, ICAgile)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Federal consulting experience; Experience supporting Peace Corps is a strong plus

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 products

  • Strong customer engagement skills, comfortable communicating with product owner and ability to manage the client relationship and expectations.

  • Ability to communicate with technical team members to translate requirements into technical terminology.

  • Ability to facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost effective manner

  • Experience facilitating working sessions with end users and all levels of stakeholders to capture business needs and requirements

  • Experience developing user stories and epics, functional requirements, technical requirements and other SDLC documentation to describe software solutions in detail.

  • Experience in creating Test Cases and Test Suites, executing Test Scripts, and analyzing error logs for web-based applications

  • Experience with developing professional briefing materials to convey analysis using Microsoft Office tools (e.g., PowerPoint and Visio)

  • Possession of excellent business consulting skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills
