We are currently seeking a Full Time Recreation Director.
The right candidate will:
* Coordinate all facility activities and programming for our residents,
* Lead the Recreation Department, incorporating programming suggestions from residents, partners and family members,
* Have a genuine enthusiasm for working with a diverse group of residents,
* Be self-motivated, creative and posses a positive personality,
* Drive the facility bus and enjoy taking the residents shopping and on social outings,
* Be able to supervise in a firm, fair and consistent manner,
* Be able to assess the residents to determine the appropriate programming to meet their individual wants and needs,
* Maintain all required record and documentation,
* Maintain and coordinate an active volunteer program,
* Be involved in center meetings and education, as required,
* Maintain good public relations within the broader community,
* Be flexible in working hours so that weekends and evening events may be provided.
Qualifications:
* Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activity professional or COTA who is licensed or registered and eligible for certification, or two years experience in a social or recreational program leadership role,
* High school degree or GED required,
* Experience working with the elderly a plus,
* Clean driving record is a must.
