    Job Description Purchasing/Logistics Manager
    Summary

    The Purchasing/Logistics Manager will have the responsibilities outlined below for the Manufacturing operation.

    Key responsibilities are (1) negotiate supplier contracts for operating supplies and packaging (2) partner with other departments in pursuit of cost reductions (3) manage the systems that keep our process efficient in order to ensure that inventories are correct at all times, at all warehouses (4) Manage all incoming and outgoing freight

    Key Relationships

    • The Purchasing/Logistics Manager will commonly interact with the Production Manager, Technical Managers, Resin Team Members, Supervisors, and Customer Service.
    • Is a member of the Plant Management Team

    Major Responsibilities

    • Manages and maintains the quality inspection and product release programs for incoming materials, in-process materials, and finished goods
    • Establishes and maintains calibration system for all measurement tools
    • Mange the Logistics-Purchasing assistant and all warehouse staff
    • Designs, implements, manages and monitors inventory and purchasing reporting systems to meet organizational requirements
    • Negotiate pricing for supplies and material
    • Submit purchase requisitions
    • Approve invoices
    • Schedule resin deliveries

    Education and Experience

    • 5+ years of experience in logistics manufacturing operation
    • Bachelor’s Degree; Business Administration, Logistics, or similar discipline preferred
    • 6 Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
    • Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and distributers.
    • ISO 9001/2012 Lead Auditor Training
    • Strong plastic conversion knowledge
    • Lean Manufacturing Systems knowledge
