Production Manager
Summary
Directs plant manufacturing operations through a team of Shift Managers and interaction with Technical, Customer Service, and Quality Management. Ensures continuous improvement and attainment of plant goals for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.
Key Relationships
- Reports directly to the VP Operations/Plant Manager
- Manages four Shift Managers, Packaging Manager, Department Leads, and Trainers
Major Responsibilities
- Manages the activities of the shop floor
- Follows established procedures and approved processes
- Supervises all production operations
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates departmental activities to fulfill sales orders; meets inventory requirements and delivers manufactured products in a timely fashion
Education and Experience
- Proven leader in a production/manufacturing operation
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment
- Must be familiar with product construction and application
- Must have complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations
- Will be computer literate, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications
- Bachelorâs Degree preferred

- Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently
- Must have strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
- Lean Manufacturing Systems knowledge
- Six Sigma Green Belt, preferred
Special Position Requirements
- Physical Demands
- Some physical exertion required
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility
- Personal Protective Equipment: Safety Glasses and ear plugs required
- Work Environment
- Works in an office and manufacturing environment
- Exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise
