Outage Manager- Responsible for planning, scheduling and execution of all planned/forced outages to include plant and contract labor. Maintain forced outage work list and communicate liabilities to maintenance/I&C team leaders. Manage planned outage budget with assistance from process owners. Develop planned outage schedules to include milestones and critical paths based off job scopes provided by process owners.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Promotes the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the plant by acquiring regular updates/reports on safety performance, work progress, cost tracking, etc.
- Owns the overall outage budget. Coordinates with process owners, long range planners, planning engineers, and major projects to prepare outage plans, develop work scopes, and manage schedule and cost associated with each project. Tracks overall budget throughout outage to maintain adherence to allotted dollars.
- Manages outage dates and makes request based off plant needs. Tracks and adheres to the planned scheduled outage days. Works with all plant groups to communicate the priority of jobs and ensure the unit(s) come back online in the time allotted. If a delay occurs, communication must be made to Plant Management, along with a timeline, plan, and budget impact for the outage work.
- Facilitates pre-outage meetings, tracks outage management guideline milestones, and coordinates the completion of all outage reports.
- Prepares outage update presentations as needed and conducts lessons learned meetings after each scheduled outage.
- Implement lessons learned/root cause analysis of an issue that causes a curtailment or forced outage; ensure/track that corrective actions are being taken. Reports back to the Superintendent the status of the actions.
- Serve as a key leader at the facility. Drive change, follow up on all issues, actively participate in plant meetings, and ensure the outage group is actively engaged.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent, or Associate s degree in technical field with equivalent applied knowledge (see Experience ), or no degree and six (6) years power plant experience with two (2) years in a supervisory role.
Experience: Six (6) years experience in energy production, maintenance, or performance, with two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
Competencies/Skills: This is a senior plant leadership role requiring a self-motivated, accountable individual who will manage all Cardinal outage activities and maintain a strong adherence to outage budgets. This individual must be a change agent that will help take the Cardinal Plant to new levels of performance.
