Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • Responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.
  • Ensuring all the program mandates and standards for excellence are met daily, develops the structure, systems and procedures to facilitate this.
  • Operating responsibility for fiscal, legal, and programmatic aspects of the program, assuring that the program is strategically positioned for the future.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact professionally with other employees, vendors, parents, and children.
  • Implement and analyze the effectiveness of all operational systems, processes, and policies.
  • Assure that the organization has a long-range strategy which fully satisfies the mission.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial and statistical reports alongside other Administrative Staff to assess the budget status and to initiate preventative measures if any problems appear to be predicated.
  • Oversee and monitor agreements for the purchasing of goods and services.
  • Work with other organizations in the community to foster collaboration.
  • Create protocol for the recruitment, training, supervising, and evaluating of volunteers.
  • Facilitate the continuing professional development in the area of administration for all Team Members as part of the commitment to excellence.
  • Maintain effective, appropriate communication with the Administrative Team, including: o Attending all regular and special meetings, and committee meetings o Providing a written report to the Administrative Staff of the fiscal and programmatic status of the program and of the administrative activities since the last meeting monitoring results, and strategies to resolve problems
  • Participate in program-wide family events, including Family Nights, Open Houses, Fundraiser events, etc.
  • Monitor the implementation of the responsibilities of Team Members through observation, monthly supervisory meetings, team meetings, and review of files and documentation.
  • Assume an active role in the annual program self-assessment.
  • Assure remediation of any non-compliances found in assessments and incorporate recommendations into future planning.
  • Hire, and if necessary, terminate Team Members, complying with applicable laws, regulations, personnel policies and procedures alongside Human Resources.
  • Complete and submit regular reports to the Owner and Chief of Staff.
  • Monitor the program’s administrative cost, ensuring it does not exceed the allowed amount.
  • Willing to participate in activities leading to professional growth in child development and education, and in training related to the specific needs of the children served.
  • Responsible for the full implementation of The Royal Academy, Illinois DCFS, and Part 407 along with any additional performance standards, policies and procedures, regulations and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of an early childhood development center including developmentally appropriate practices for a child care program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business administration, human resources, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role within an agency setting.
  • Background/Fingerprint and Health Clearance.
  • Physical examination completed no more than 6 months prior to employment
  • Original unofficial transcripts and “sealed” official transcripts for DCFS qualifications
  • Physical Demands ability to lift 40 pounds regularly, stand for long periods of time, and able to sit on the floor to play with children.
  • Three professional written references.
  • Experience in human services program management, including program planning, operations and evaluation, and the use of management information systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups, major projects or initiatives.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain professional, working relationships with parents, community members, and Team Members.
  • Must be highly organized and detailed oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license, auto insurance, and regular use of car.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Forward thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills in Spanish (preferred) and English.
  • Excellent computer and technology skills and proficient in Microsoft Suite.
