American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) has an excellent opportunity for a Director of Certifications.
Position Purpose
Oversees, develops, and manages all strategic, operations, exam development and test processes, customer relations and financial management of all AHIMA certifications globally. Manages and adhere compliance to all 3rd party accreditation standards. Responsible for certification program totaling $10 million.
Job Responsibilities
Exam Development:
- Oversees test development, production, delivery, and post-administration duties for all AHIMA Examinations (domestic and international).
- Provides oversight of Exam Development Vendor deliverables.
- Manages recruitment process of Subject Matter Experts Directs work of psychometrician vendor/partner.
- Directs work of psychometrician vendor/partner.
Exam Security
- Maintains exam security through education and outreach in addition to the development of policies and procedures in coordination with AHIMA’s Director of Certification.
Communication:
- Respond to Public concerns related to the exam (i.e. scoring, AHIMA conference presentations, educator concerns).
Position Requirements
- Masters’ Degree required. Preferably Industrial/Organization Psychology, Educational Measurement
- Minimum 10-15 years of professional experience. At least 7 years of certification and test development experience in an examination environment with global certificate holders.
- Experience in an association or professional society highly preferred. Healthcare industry experience highly desired.
- 3 to 5 years of management experience including staff, vendors and member/commissioners. Experience managing budgets up to $10 million.
- Strong familiarity with voluntary, 3rd party accreditation standards, include National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
- Experience working with exam committees/volunteers and meeting planning and facilitation
