Position Overview:

The Director Digital Communications, is responsible for developing and maintaining digital tools to enable the company to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. Areas of oversight include the company’s external-facing website, its intranet and its corporate social media platforms, as well as the company’s Creative Services team. In addition, this individual and his/her team operate as a global Center of Excellence for digital communications, including social media, facilitating best practice sharing and resources. This role supports the Global Internal and External Communications teams, as well as business unit communications teams. This role also serves as a member of the Global Communications Leadership Team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a corporate digital communications strategy, optimizing current channels and innovating to stay relevant to evolving audience needs. Activities will support Internal External Communications teams, as well as business unit teams, and be in partnership with the company’s Information Technology team.
  • Lead the corporation’s Creative Services team to operate in a way that is prioritized to business needs and optimizes resources.
  • Operate as a Digital Communications Center of Excellence, identifying best practices and actively sharing them with regional communications teams. Establish and reinforce common processes and strategies for digital content, including social media.
  • Develop and implement a content management system to ensure internal and external digital content is continually up-to-date, user-centric and on brand.
  • Continually measure and report on digital channel effectiveness through Google Analytics or equivalent.


Experience and Knowledge required:

  • 10 or more years of experience in Digital Communications, including successfully leading a team of other professionals.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute & measure internal and external digital communications strategies.
  • Experiencing building and launching websites from a content perspective – intranet and website.
  • Experience successfully managing corporate social media platforms to maximize visibility and engagement.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong writing and editing ability for digital channels.
  • Expert knowledge of digital analytics, such as Google Analytics or equivalent
  • Knowledge of and ability to leverage best practices in digital communications.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field is required.
  • Degree or concentration focused on Digital / Advanced degree a plus.
