SUMMARY

Ensures customer retention and profitability in this profit center by hiring, training, supervising, and measuring the performance of salespeople and establishing customer-focused sales standards.


Responsibilities/Duties

  • Strives to reach goals and objectives for sales, gross, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all Business Elite sales employees.
  • Administers an annual operating budget for the Business Elite sales department.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affecting sales.
  • Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, including outside sales calls, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
  • Assists individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provides them with the support to meet these goals.
  • Ensures proper follow up of all potential buyers by monitoring a prospecting and sales control system.
  • Implements and monitors a follow-up system for Business Elite purchasers.
  • Maintains teamwork in a customer-focused sales environment throughout the sales, delivery, and follow-up process.
  • Provides effective communication throughout the department as well as interdepartmentally, especially with the Business Elite Service Advisor and Business Elite Technicians.
  • Ensures that Business Elite salespeople understand and follow dealership policies and procedures.
  • Provides proper product and training resources for salespeople on a regular and continuous basis to ensure Business Elite required training is completed.
  • Oversees the efforts of Business Elite salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership.
  • Works with salespeople on programs that will increase gross and F&I penetration.
  • Helps salespeople close deals when necessary.
  • Provides out-of-stock service for fleet accounts and local leasing companies in conjunction with the General Sales Manager.
  • Follows up on dealership payment for delivered fleet, lease company, and commercial account vehicles routinely.
  • Maintains standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers.
  • Processes salesperson commission sheets and monitors payroll records of salespeople.
  • Reviews inventory daily to ensure the proper mix of grounded stock for maximum turnover efficiency.
  • Provides Business Elite inventory ordering recommendations to the General Sales Manager by model, color, and equipment, based on a variety of customer and market analyses.
  • Consults with accounting personnel and the General Sales Manager to ensure floor plan assistance is maximized.
  • Administers and coordinates Business Elite loaner programs following GM and dealership guidelines.
  • Supervises courtesy deliveries to Business Elite customers, insuring correct completion and submission of the CD paperwork.
  • Insures the display of commercial vehicles educate and motivate Business Elite customers to purchase vehicles.
  • Directs merchandising and advertising efforts for the Business Elite department in conjunction with the General Sales Manager and dealer. Ensures Co-op funds are fully utilized.
  • Attends regional or national Business Elite meetings as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to understand and use basic mathematical concepts such as decimals and fractions. Able to understand and interpret statistics.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Some college and three to five years of General Motors Business Elite sales experience.
