Job Description

The National Accounts Chain Development Director position is responsible for the development, alignment, and communication of market-level chain strategy and plans to support the overall Annual Operating Plan within the defined geography. This position works cross-functionally across Diageo sales, finance, activation, strategic accounts, and the distributor to build and execute market level strategies within our customers. This role requires a high level of strategic capability and influencing at all levels of the organization. This role reports directly into the Senior Vice President of Strategic Accounts and is based in Florida.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and Lead Diageo’s chain strategy for spirits in specified geographies in conjunction with the Diageo VP Business Performance and local distributor chain and trade development teams
  • Focus and align channel plans to develop AOP Plan for Chains that drives spirits volume, net revenue, price mix and share to meet annual operating targets
  • Work closely with Net Revenue Team and VP Business Performance to assist in the local allocation of resources, such as trade, A&P, and incremental spending
  • Identify, build and execute programming to accelerate growth/priority brands
  • Work cross functionally with finance, marketing, Diageo Business Performance VP, distributor and national account owners to understand and communicate chain forecast, growth opportunities and gap closure ideas by market
  • Drive connectivity between distributor and national accounts team to align overall goals and programming plans
  • Balance/optimize Natl Accts trade activities to ensure ROM compliance and alignment with overall market strategy
  • Work with Sales Execution Team to Build and Support Key Programming Messages to Field Teams for GSM’s and Weekly Meetings
  • Plan, assess & drive execution against Innovation, New Items/Expanded Authorizations, Planner/Ad Support & Displays
  • Coordinate “chain summits” with key stakeholders across Diageo and distributor to educate, align, build and manage AOP – aligning market and account goals

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • 4 Year College Degree Required, with MBA Preferred
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience required working with distributors and chains, preferably in CPG or 3-tier categories like Alcohol Beverage
  • Self-motivated, strategic, goal oriented, with a passion for winning
  • Strong organizational, communication and influencing skills are required
  • Proven success influencing and developing customer/market strategies and execution plans
  • Deep understanding of sales analytics with IRI or Nielsen experience preferred
  • Proven experience working effectively within a matrix organization required
