Veritude is hiring a Scrum Master to work at Fidelity Investments. This opportunity will be based at 500 Salem Street in Smithfield, RI

As a Scrum Master, we will rely on you for the delivery of projects with outstanding quality and conforming to the business requirements. You’ll leverage your skills and experience to lead a team of engineers while managing technology projects across Fidelity. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of multiple projects that are using either Agile or a hybrid Agile/waterfall methodology. These responsibilities will include; managing projects to budget, prioritizing the team for the projects, conducting project kickoffs, running scrums, retros, demos, planning sessions, managing milestones and delivery dates, and coordinating between the development teams and external parties while overseeing 2-3 other Scrum Masters.

The Purpose of this Role

Working directly with teams to instill agile values, practices and processes. Working with various Product Owners, to support development process by maintaining a well-groomed backlog and facilitating agile ceremonies such as stand ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives. Continually monitor performance and help identify continuous improvement opportunities to help the team work better and smarter. Serve as the team release champion, owning several key tasks that ensures our work is released to production with quality.

The Fidelity Brokerage Technology Group is responsible for the Architecture, development and maintenance of technology solutions supporting Fidelity’s customers. This specific initiative requires this Senior Scrum Master to oversee 3 squads working on Data Lake initiative and its migration to Snowflake on an AWS platform.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 6+ years of Scrum Master related experience.
  • Previous cloud or snowflake migration experience.
  • In depth knowledge of Agile implementation, and an understanding of technical concepts
  • Good project management skills, with the ability to analyze business issues and develop solutions that require integration of technical, business and interpersonal knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance priorities between simultaneous projects
  • Have strong leadership, mentoring and influencing capabilities, that reflect excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Have strong negotiation and presentation skills that showcase your strong risk management skills and cost/benefit analytical ability.
  • Working knowledge of tools such as Jira to build and maintain team backlog

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Experience leading other Scrum Masters on multiple projects
  • Financial Services
