Sterne School is seeking an experienced, dynamic Director of Admission to be a key part of shaping the school’s future. Reporting directly to the Head of School and collaborating with the Director of Marketing and Communications as well as the Director of Development, the Director of Admissions will lead and manage all aspects of the admissions process.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Admission Director reports to the Head of School and is responsible for guiding students to achievement of the Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) and the 2019-2024 Strategic Plan, including:

  • Assuming responsibility for all steps in the admissions process for Lower, Middle and Upper Schools, from initial contact to acceptance
  • Collaborating with and supervising Admissions Associate
  • Communicating with Head of School and Division Heads as-needed
  • Working with the Director of Communications and Director of Development to develop messaging for, but not limited to, Open House materials, the website, and other marketing materials.
  • Coordinating and conducting Open Houses
  • Conducting internal assessments for 4th – 8th grade applicants
  • Scheduling and conducting conducts campus tours for prospective parents and responding to a wide variety of external inquiries
  • Utilize and support admissions CRM (Ravenna)
  • Following up with outside referrals and professionals regarding student information
  • Remaining abreast with the trends and information regarding admissions in the Bay Area
  • Conducting admissions outreach in the community
  • Staffing Admissions Fairs
  • Coordinating with and supporting Division Heads and Director of Student Life in new family orientation activities

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or higher
  • At least 3 years’ experience in admissions or a related field
  • Familiarity with data-management systems such as Ravenna, Blackbaud, SSS
  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Creativity combined with attention to detail
