Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and your engineering experience in a chemical / petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment (preferably in a Project Engineering role), you will develop project scopes, generate and/or obtain cost estimates, and prepare appropriation funding requests. Additionally, you will ensure appropriate project safety reviews are completed as required, both before and after approval and utilize applicable Value-Based Engineering practices (VBE) to optimize project scope and costs. Your unwavering commitment to compliance will be evident as you ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promote a safe working environment for project execution. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will serve you well as you establish and maintain partnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to execute projects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering and procurement, to startup and commissioning, and final documentation and closure. Demonstrating your work experience in project execution and understanding of best practices for project management work processes, you will request and coordinate required process and discipline engineering and design resources, whether from the site or corporate groups or outside engineering vendors, to prepare engineering design deliverables and procure equipment, fabricated materials, and services. Your working knowledge of chemical process equipment including but not limited to rotating equipment, heat transfer, solids handling, storage tanks and vessels will be essential as you adhere to current corporate and plant requirements for equipment/materials specifications and vendor preferences. Using your general computer skills (knowledge of SAP project functions preferred), you will maintain SAP project data entries, monitor project progress through scheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
