Dorm Company is opening our second warehouse location in Madison, TN (Greater Nashville, TN). We are seeking a highly qualified, experienced Warehouse Manager (Operational Leader).

Our flagship online retail store, DormCo.com (Est. 2010) is among the top places to shop for College Dorm Supplies. Our company focuses on innovative collegiate products, competitive pricing and exceptional service. Our other, more recently launched online store, Byourbed.com, a bedding store specializing in high quality and stylish bedding has doubled in growth each year since its 2016 inception. Our stores are comprised by 98% of our own branded, manufactured and trademark products. We are not resellers, we are brand creators and we also sell our products on most major USA websites.

We are looking for an effective Warehouse Manager to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. To oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and order fulfillment of a wide variety of products. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.

With the launch of a new warehouse location it all begins with a blank canvas. You’ll have to establish the entire set up and daily operations. These aspects include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating a warehouse workflow and layout plan
  • Establishing an optimized pick, pack and ship process
  • Understanding our current Ship Station system and optimizing it to work both for our current warehouse location and our new Madison, TN location
  • Physical set-up of warehouse (Racking, Equipment, Packing / Shipping areas, etc)
  • Receiving products and establishing an inventory system within Ship Station or other third party plug in to Ship Station.
  • The hiring and management of a warehouse team
  • On time order fulfillment (all orders ship within 1 business day)
  • Order accuracy (QC) systems to ensure a 99.9% error free shipment rate
  • Implementing cost savings ideas, concepts and operating with cost reduction practices
  • Overall comprehension of warehouse practices and online retail

General Responsibilities: Warehouse / Operational Management

  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
  • Assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
  • Manage incoming containers and large shipment unloads and inventory processing
  • Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
  • Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc)
  • Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

General Skills: Warehouse / Operational Management

  • Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration

Compensation:

Salary – Based on experience / negotiable / competitive

Bonus – Yearly performance bonus

Vacation – Up to 3 Weeks (TBD as initial set up phase and summer peak season are paramount)

Trip Bonus towards Travel (Flights/Hotel for you and a companion or your family)
