The Warehouse Manager is responsible to oversee all operations and functions of the warehouse and distribution center that includes, but may not be limited to: Receiving of Product, Stocking of Product, Inventory, Order Pulling and Boxing/Shipping of product to internet customers as well as coordinating shipments and transfers to our retail stores. The Warehouse Manager will be required to communicate professionally and effectively with internal departments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for all Operations within the Warehouse and Distribution Center and oversee all other warehouse management and supervisory staff. Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage and create internal controls such as SOP’s and ensure all procedures are implemented, enforced and updated as necessary
  • Enforce all company-wide policies and procedures in addition to following all labor laws
  • Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, annual productivity and metrics of workload and output of the warehouse to ensure that the department is successful in supporting the demands and requirements of the business
  • Ensure that each department within the warehouse has streamlined processes and communication structure
  • Implement processes and communication structure for each warehouse department to interact with external departments
  • Implement and enforce daily cycle counting and metrics to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Coordinate of information to internal department managers and external
  • Communicate with senior management regarding warehouse operations of the company
  • Oversee and manage warehouse management and supervisory personnel in addition to all warehouse staff
  • Ensure OSHA, DOT and safety compliance is monitored and enforced
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within warehouse employees to ensure productivity targets are met or exceed
  • Ensure employees wear the adequate personal protective equipment
  • Identify potential safety hazards and correct them
  • Keep control inventory levels by daily physical cycle counts and semi-annual physical inventories; reconcile with current inventory management system
  • Prepare reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage, and shipping requirements. Plan future capacity requirements.
  • Recommend improvement to procedure standards
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the warehouse employees to review issues and requirements
  • Assist any other departments and perform any other duties as requested

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred.) from a four-year college or university and at least 5-10 year of applicable experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate policies and procedures to employees
  • Strong Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operation functions and inventory practices organizing, planning, and multi-tasking skills required
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products including MS Word, MS Outlook and advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to operate forklift
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge
  • Ability to manage and supervise employees.
  • Ability to communicate policies and procedures to employees.
