PMP Project Manager


Tasks the role will be performing:

  • Work with customer to define, clarify and manage project scope;
  • Develop and maintain the project plan and schedule;
  • Develop and implement a formal risk mitigation plan – actively performs risk analysis and mitigation;
  • Develop procedures to support the achievement of the project objectives;
  • Coordinate activities across different organizational functions;
  • Track work assignments made to team members and follow-up on project action items to ensure tasks are completed and project is on schedule;
  • Define project baselines;
  • Track project progress and provide project status reports;
  • Continuously monitor project and take or recommend corrective actions, as necessary;
  • Provide and maintain a detailed project plan using Microsoft Project;
  • Interacts with high-level stakeholders including senior agency managers;
  • Develops and implements project management processes and policies;
  • Guides state staff on project management methodologies and best practices providing for knowledge transfer;
  • May guide lower-level staff;
  • This position may oversee other additional unit projects.


Requirements for the position:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 84 Months of Experience directing design and development activities and assisting in the development and maintenance of a detailed work plan
  • 84 Months of Experience in creating and managing a risk management plan.
  • 84 Months of Experience in creating and managing a change management plan.
  • 84 Months of Experience in creating and managing a communication plan.
  • 84 Months of Experience in coordinating issue resolution.
  • 84 Months of Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions and other collaborative meetings.
