Reporting to the Head of Wardrobe, you will assist with the planning and organization of all activities related to the wardrobe team. You will play a key role in ensuring that costume items are in good condition and participate in preserving the original concepts.

Duties include assisting in the following, but not limited to:
  • Replace and assist the Head of Wardrobe in all tasks, as needed;
  • Assist the Head of Wardrobe in preparing the team’s work schedules;
  • Provide guidance to local dressers, oversee and participate in laundry duties;
  • Coordinate with the Head of Wardrobe to ensure the presence of a wardrobe employee backstage at all times during shows;
  • Participate and assist the Head Wardrobe in hiring and training permanent and local staff;
  • Ensure that the tour’s costume shop is properly equipped and oversee maintenance of its equipment;
  • Partake in maintaining and updating tracking systems and databases and ensure that ATA carnets are up to date;
  • Prepare and consolidate customs documentation and shipping requests for the tour’s costumes and equipment;
  • Participate in organizing artists’ dressing rooms and wardrobe area;
  • Coordinate the efficiency of set-up and tear-down (big top shows) / load-in and load-out (arena shows), in addition to other related tasks;
  • Take part in the daily maintenance of wigs, costumes, shoes, etc.;
  • Prepare costumes and accompany artists and technical crew at events and perform any related task to event appearance;
  • Supervise and assist artists with hairstyling and make-up application;
  • Manage inventory and order supplies and costumes.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Certified diploma in costume design and sewing;
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience on large-scale productions;
  • Personnel management experience an asset;
  • Ability to handle contingencies and work well under pressure;
  • Flexibility, autonomy, team player;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications in a Windows environment;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, fluency in French or any language is an asset;
  • Available to tour internationally full time and to work in foreign countries.
