The Manager, Data Migration is responsible for managing the overall Data Migration function for all ongoing conversion efforts and the associated staff.
- Leads and develops people including planning, coordinating resources, developing, evaluating work of assigned staff with responsibility for hiring, terminations, disciplining, recognizing situations, performing performance appraisals and pay reviews.
- Assign tasks for all Data Migration resources working on all conversion projects.
- Understands all the Data Migration tasks, start dates, end dates, deadlines, milestones, for all ongoing conversion projects.
- Shift Data Migration resources from project to project to accommodate the deadlines.
- Help acquire, and train additional Data Migration resources as needed for multiple conversion projects.
- Assist in documenting all steps and procedures required to perform Data Migration tasks.
- Assist in developing training materials for new Data Migration resources.
- Make sure that all Data Migration resources are following the same process and level of structure to assure quality work is being performed.
- Assist and approve the design for all Data Migration scenarios.
- Assist in Data Migration coding and debugging when needed.
- Participate in meetings with other conversion managers to jointly determine dependencies between conversion workstreams.
- Manage effort to move all Data Migration coding into the quarterly system releases.
- Assist in developing task lists and estimates for prospective clients.
- Completes periodic reports, indicating progress of projects and tasks.
- Able to challenge the status quo collaboratively to drive to better solutions and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), a related field and typically requires six + years of experience.
- Broad knowledge of the field with strong leadership skills.
- Experience with Sequel Server databases; ability to develop and execute SQL scripts
- Critical thinker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data Migration experience on LTCG systems.
- Knowledge of Long Term Care products and features.
- Experience with large scale conversion projects.
- Good working knowledge of LTCG’s application development standards and best practices, including: source code version control, managed build environments, configuration management, and QA/UAT testing processes.
- Resource management experience.
