Full Job Description

Work Environment: Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and occasional stooping, bending and reaching. Must work in a busy office environment with ability to perform skills such as computer, telephone, copiers and calculator. May require travel. Hearing ability sufficient enough to communicate with others effectively in person or over phone. Visual ability must be sufficient enough to read typewritten documents, computer screen and drive a car. Exert 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force consistently to move objects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assure that proper staffing and scheduling is maintained in accordance with policy and patient client demands.
  • Assists in the selection of staff, participates in the orientation and in­service training, conducts record reviews, assists in or maintains the data collection system, implements a quality assurance plan, directs and provides case management, and monitors the performance of Family Support Specialists and Family Resource Specialists.
  • Maintain expertise in providing home-based services as well as been trained in and have experience in completing the assessment procedures utilized to determine families to be served by the program.
  • Act as a liaison with other agencies and monitors contracts as well as ongoing program development.
  • Functions as the team leader, conducting team meetings and planning groups, and provides daily support and crisis management.
  • Experience in home visiting, with a strong background in prevention services to the 0-3 age population.
  • Experience with family services which embrace the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment.
  • Knowledge of maternal-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
  • Attend staff meetings as required and trainings.
  • Provide supportive supervision and training for office staff and clinical staff including supervision meetings, evaluations, feedback, support, and coaching.
  • Work cohesively with the regional director toward the department’s mission and vision.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the regional director.
  • Proactively identify safety and risk issues associated with clinical services and departmental operations.
  • Participate in selection of personnel.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the strategic plan in conjunction with mission and vision.
  • Resolve problems, both administrative and operational and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information, personnel information, in close concert with the regional director.
  • Must have knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Knowledge of acceptable health administrative practices.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and be able to use Microsoft products.
  • Must have excellent skills in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising.
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication,
  • Skills in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, and across departmental levels.
  • Must be available to respond to public health emergencies and disasters.
  • Maintain updated alerting profile in Tennessee Health Alerting Network (TnHAN) and respond appropriately to all alerts.
  • Demonstrates a team oriented effort in operation and growth of SCRHD.
  • Completes all required trainings.
  • Adheres to all Sullivan County employment policies.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Abilities:

Solid understanding of and experience in managing staff

Administrative experience in human services or related field, including experience in quality assurance/improvement and site development

Master’s degree in human service or fields related to working with children and families or Bachelor’s degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience

Infant mental health endorsement preferred
