SUMMARY:

As the “Engineering Project Manager” of the R&D team, you will be joining the largest and most innovative bowling equipment provider in the world that is “Making bowling Amazing”. You will be responsible for the technical project management and support of Product development and continuation engineering projects. The primary focus will be on the Electro-mechanical products with collaboration across the Electronics and software development teams. The successful candidate would be a fearless and passionate project manager, with strong facilitation and communication skills that is able to utilize his technical background and drive company priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Lead and monitor the Product development (PD) activity. Promote and ensure tight collaboration within the Mechanical R&D group & across the Electronics and Software groups.
  • Ensure that timely decisions are made by the appropriate leaders and using the right process.
  • Interface with internal supervisors/managers to estimate work efforts and define short-term milestones for the resources, while updating and monitoring the road map and other tracking tools.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with management, internal departments, and external contacts in order to facilitate agreement on and meet project goals, objectives and deadlines.
  • Organize and host efficient communication meetings with recaps, action items so that there are clear paths to closure with owners for each item.
  • Track progress, understand dependencies, scope changes, evaluate corresponding risks, avoid/reduce or mitigate the impact of delays and communicate status to the Senior Managers, Director and project stakeholders.
  • Ask questions (honest and uncomfortable if needed) that clarify priorities and push the team to be highly effective in adding value.
  • Work collaboratively to allow R&D to be better, faster and smarter about delivery. Engage and energize the project teams to achieve aggressive goals. Facilitate knowledge management and communication so each project delivers better than the previous one.

  • Strong technical aptitude and a keen ability to quickly learn about new technology, its challenges, design trade-offs and risks while staying out of the details.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of development plans of varying granularity. Ability to move fluidly from the big picture to the details so that complex and strategic cross-functional projects with tight deadlines can be efficiently planned and deployed.
  • Sound knowledge of methods, processes & tools associated with Project management. Ideally familiar with Agile philosophy and be able to apply where suited.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and meeting facilitation skills. Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
  • Goal-oriented and pragmatic with excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Self-motivated and driven to take the initiative without being asked. Not afraid to be tough and expect accountability to commitments, but able and willing to act with empathy and integrity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum BA/BS in Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or related discipline.
  • PMP background and Agile/ Lean expertise strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in project management at an equipment manufacturing and/or product development environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of product development cycles and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in using project management and activity tracking software tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
