About the Role: The Indirect Procurement Team is looking for an IT Category Manager to join our team in Elkton, Maryland. This associate will work with the IT Indirect Procurement Category team and support the global IT Organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing key stakeholder relationships while ensuring business requirements are met, including identification of high risk suppliers and development of risk mitigation plans
  • Leveraging data analytics for spend analysis to inform strategy development and establish optimal business case to meet business requirements, which includes price and supply market analysis
  • Continually seeking to develop increased understanding of market dynamics
  • Owning and managing supplier selection, relationships and performance
  • Leading supplier contract negotiations
  • Utilizing established standard procurement tools and processes
  • Collaborating with the Category Buyers to transfer strategic requirements to ensure efficient core purchasing activities
  • Driving cost-reduction projects and developing supply chains as required
  • Recognizing and protecting Gore’s intellectual property
  • Actively participating in professional meetings and trade shows to remain current in the relevant supplier landscape with regards to new businesses, mergers, and acquisitions

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years in strategic procurement/category management (preferred indirect) OR 5 years expertise in the IT vendor management
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English
  • Demonstrated ability in the following areas:
  • Contract development and negotiation
  • Supplier relationship and performance management
  • Market Intelligence
  • Data Analytics
  • Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or equivalent
  • CPSM, CPM, SPSM or similar certification
  • Global procurement experience
