What will I be doing?

Blueprint is looking for a Director of IT to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions!

This Director of IT is responsible in leading the strategy, vision, planning, daily operations and technical functions within the information technology department. This person is direct leadership and oversight of the Information Technology (IT) Team and will work closely with senior leadership, users, and the IT Team to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support the technology needs of the overall organization.

  • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal technology resources and external entities, including vendors, and partner organizations
  • Keep current with trends and issues in the industry (current technologies, risks, regulations and opportunities) and advise, counsel, and educate senior management on risks (competitive, financial) or other impacts
  • Evaluates and presents level of information and data security risks.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of security policies, standards, technical controls, procedures and other internal controls and makes appropriate improvements.
  • Manages both internal and external resources to ensure effective information security protocols and processes are established and maintained.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
  • Address bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and encourage risk-taking behavior to maximize business benefit.
  • Actively represent our culture by leading and participating in efforts to create the next big thing
  • Develop strategic relationships across the business and key partners to inspire change and adoption of new ways of working that drive competitive advantage

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience of management experience in an IT environment
  • 3+ years of experience leading information security policy, standards and controls development and integration in a high-growth company
  • Experience with collaborative work environments and ability to influence decisions across functional areas
  • Knowledge of information security “best practices”
  • Outstanding leadership and management skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; experience effectively communicating to all levels of the organization
  • Experience setting a mission, vision and strategic plan, and then successfully executing it
  • Passion for participating in high growth, high energy companies
