About this role
Applied IoT Solutions team are responsible for new SaaS, lighting and controls business development, and expanding existing relationships within multiple go to market channels. Applied IoT Solutions represents the entire range of Acuity Brands capability and promote Acuity’s Atrius IoT platform of software services and Atrius enabled lighting and control systems. As our solutions achieve rapid growth, successful candidates have strong income and career expansion potential.
This position reports to the Vice President of Applied IoT Solutions team
How you will contribute:
- Develops strong business relationships with line of business owners within the client’s organization from operating to executive levels
- Develops and maintain relationships with key internal customers to ensure effective communications and performance to plan
- Creates the business cases within the client’s organization to drive adoption & expansion
- Establishes and executes business plans that drive revenue and achieve specific account objectives
- Delivers persuasive presentations to customers with the goal to get Acuity Brands product specified and purchased
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated
- Follow up and develop sales leads to deliver specification preference on construction bids
- Drive internal sponsorship of client-driven solutions that may be specialized for that account; follow through and documentation are critical
- New business growth: responsible for developing strategy to expand revenue with new and existing customers
- Budget Management: Compliance to annual requirements in sales and expense management of personal and regional budgets. Creating a maximum return on investment of corporate assets
- Problem Resolution: Minimize conflict between customer expectations and Acuity capabilities. Handle escalation of conflict mitigation with other sales channels.
- Maintain a consistent product & solution schedule for the client base on new products introduced, focusing on new technology and full solution sale
- Provide market related insights to Acuity’s senior leadership as to current business trends and potential opportunities for new growth
- Work with senior sales leadership to identify opportunities for sales process improvement.
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience
- Strong national account channel and lighting agency sales channel experience
- Strong project management skills
- Marketing, merchandising and/or other internal retail experience
