Core Job Function:
To maximize the return on the firm’s financial assets by establishing and managing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems throughout all firm businesses with keen attention to necessary financial risk mitigation and management.
Job Duties:
- Strategic Vision – the ability to execute the firm’s strategic growth vision by taking a holistic and proactive approach to every aspect of the firm’s financial process
- Competent and enthusiastic leadership and development of the firm’s finance department personnel * Prepare and coordinate budgets and financial forecasts and reports variances
- Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Guide financial decisions and protect company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures and enforcing internal controls
- Continuous monitoring and assessment of the firm’s financial health by conducting internal audits and facilitating external audits
- Financial management of multiple global subsidiaries and divisions of the firm
- Manage all accounting operations including: A/R, A/P, billing, revenue recognition, inventory accounting and cost accounting
- Daily awareness of A/R, A/P, cash position and any significant financial items; communicate same to firm’s leadership
- Payroll – responsible for all aspects of the firm’s payroll operations for global employees and sub- contractors
- Implement the necessary processes to ensure quality control over the firm’s financial transactions and reporting
- Timely preparation of monthly financial statements, to include the status of the firm’s financial health
- Coordinate and prepare month-end and year-end close processes
- Keep current on all relevant federal, state, and local compliance and reporting requirements and prepare all requisite regulatory reports and filings
- Anticipate regulatory changes and advise management accordingly
- Identify areas of growth for department personnel with educational opportunities to support the requirements
- Prepare special reports as needed
Job Requirements:
- Advanced degree in accounting; CPA or CMA preferred
- 2-5 years of combined accounting and financial experience including: creation of financial statements, ledger functions and month-end/year-end process
- Exceptional accounting software knowledge and proficiency, including Sage 300 and Microsoft Office
- Proven administrative and managerial skills
