Global Commercial Services (GCS) Operational Excellence (OE) partners with the GCS business on executing 1st line of defense programs and responsibilities. The Vice President, GCS Operational Excellence will be responsible for assuring GCS’ objectives in operational effectiveness, reliable financial reporting and compliance with laws, regulations and policies are met, influencing control consciousness & regulatory preparedness across products, processes and legal entities. This leader will be curious and utilize their technical depth and business savviness to set the right strategy for the team, in close partnership with stakeholders across the Blue Box, to deliver outcomes that drive business goals and the internal control environment. Success will not only be through defining approach but most importantly executing change.
Principal Responsibilities:

Accountable for driving KYC solutions forward leveraging new technological developments such as biometric data to AI in order to offer better ways to identify customers, run due diligence checks and perform ongoing monitoring to help in delivering a convenient, immediate and effortless customer experience.

Establish preventative control program associated with data protection and data sharing needs of our commercial customers

Partnership with GCO and Compliance to clarify regulatory requirements applicable to GCS and ensure 1st line activities are performed in full compliance of laws & policies

Enable effective business prioritization of Internal Controls technology deliverables through investment framework allowing for appropriate prioritization decisions in partnership with Technologies

Develop and conduct risk assessments and analysis as needed. Assure the development, evaluation and implementation of policies and procedures reflecting current regulations and best practices occur, and provide recommendations and/or feedback on identified risks to current processes, platforms and capabilities

Partner with multiple stakeholders across the blue box including, Global Risk, Banking & Compliance, Technologies, GCO, Information Security, Finance, Global Services Group and Internal Audit

Lead global team and develop operational risk management skillset across organization
Qualifications

Experience implementing internal controls programs in the Banking or Financial Services industries
-
Able to quickly identify the mission critical areas in an internal controls framework and prioritize work accordingly

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Ability to lead and affect process change and improvements at all levels

Strong consultation, communication, facilitation and presentations skills; Ability to understand complex challenges & linkages and articulate into plans to drive results

Solid negotiation skills with ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner

Communicates in a timely and straightforward manner, probes for additional information, clarifies assumptions and confirms agreed upon actions, while keeping everyone involved informed of progress and issues

Proven track record of successfully operating in a highly matrix environment and being able to lead and influence without direct authority

Creative thinking & ability to operate in “white space” including the ability to drive unconventional solutions to long-standing business problems, and ability to act as a catalyst for change

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent field

10+ years of Public Accounting, Audit or Internal Controls experience
