In this exceptional leadership opportunity, you will lead eHealth’s Consumer Experience Engineering team. Our Consumer Engineering team is responsible for empowering our customers to make the most informed decisions regarding their health insurance. This includes: creating innovative new features, leveraging eHealths’s core strengths of data, marketing and expertise to help customers. You will lead multiple engineering teams and have a significant impact within our company. You’ll work closely with company partners, leaders and product managers to bring the product vision to fruition. We offer a great deal of autonomy and flexibility to our teams. If you’re a results-oriented, technically confident leader who enjoys working with a lot of freedom, but knows how to take full ownership of a project, collaborate with cross functional teams and execute with quality, then this is the role you’ve been looking for.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the vision, strategy and direction of eHealth’s consumer engineering function
  • Lead a team of 35+ talented engineers and grow the team
  • Encourage and lead teams to deliver data driven and strategic approaches that help optimize eHealth’s customer-facing products and guide ongoing product decisions
  • Participate heavily in eHealth’s engineering leadership team help set engineering strategy, vision , initiate and debate key strategic topics, and drive bold high-impact decisions
  • Grow and expand your expert team by hiring great talent, mentoring leaders and pushing agendas to improve engineering quality, productivity and performance
  • Instill an inclusive team culture that is passionate, empathetic, and collaborative
  • Lead strong partnerships with eHealth’s product management, engineering, design, and marketing teams
  • Hire talent which can move the needle for the company

Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 10 years+ in Engineering with 4+ years in Engineering Leadership
  • Strong leader who has managed, hired and grown engineering teams of 30+ team members
  • Academic background in a technology or science-related field
  • Experience leading teams across multiple geo locations
  • Experience working in a large enterprise /company
  • Experience with supporting product teams in a consumer/ecommerce industry
  • Willingness to lead initiatives and a catalyst for change throughout the whole organization
  • Strong communication skills with engineers as well as your non-technical colleagues
  • Experience delivering product in an agile environment
