The VP of Diversity & Inclusion (VP, D&I) will be a critical leader on the Talent & Diversity Team. As Thomson Reuters continues to transform and evolve, this individual will need to think strategically about how to continue to attract, develop and retain talent from all backgrounds and experiences and how to create a culture that harnesses the benefits of differences. The VP, D&I will need to strategically drive the next level of growth in diversity representation through partnership with the CEO and leadership team and integration across the Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and HRBP functions. This role will be a trusted partner to the CEO, CPO and senior leadership team in conducting D&I best practice research; in developing a three-year strategy to achieve best-in-class D&I results. Externally, the role is responsible for enhancing Thomson Reuters’ reputation and employer brand. This role will report to the Head of Talent and has two direct reports.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Head of Talent and CEO to launch and operate the TR Inclusion Council
  • Develop and drive the D&I strategy, engaging key stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Ensure relevant programs and initiatives are developed, well-executed and maintained, ensuring alignment to the D&I and wider talent strategy and agenda
  • Lead a passionate D&I team and provide them with learning, best practices, expertise, strong direction and fulfillment
  • Partner with the Talent Centre of Excellence (CoE) and wider people function to embed effective D&I practices into every phase of the talent and development lifecycles, to support the development of diverse talent. Build capabilities across the business
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure D&I is at the heart of the Thomson Reuters external employer brand and hiring practices are bias free.
  • Partner with TR”s Learning & Development team, as well as external resources, to build and implement training and tools to improve TR’s capability in D&I
  • Provide community leadership to Thomson Reuters Business Resource Groups, ensuring they are further optimized to foster an inclusive environment and have greater impact
  • Manage global and key region external partnerships related to D&I; actively contribute and champion to TR’s participation in external surveys
  • Partner with the People Analytics teams to ensure D&I is captured within key people metrics, develop recommendations for how to advance employee self-declaration in Workday to facilitate a deeper understanding of TR’s workforce
  • Monitor external D&I policy practices and ensure Thomson Reuters policies are competitive and ensure compliance with all mandatory regional/national diversity compliance programmes


Qualifications:


  • HR leadership experience
    – 12+ years of experience with increasing leadership responsibility in D&I and HR, ideally in multiple functions and with an executive leadership focus.

  • Established market reputation and credibility as a leading D&I expert
    – Recognized as an external thought leader and innovator in the areas of diversity and inclusion.

  • Experience driving change in a growth environment
    – Experience working in a fast-growing and innovative company and driving D&I change in an evolving environment. Demonstrated ability to creatively and effectively partner with executive leadership and functional partners to lead and manage change.

  • Track record of leveraging quantitative analysis and metrics to design and measure D&I initiatives
    – Ability to leverage data, metrics and analysis to create a business case and show progress and outcomes.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation with significant employee numbers in US, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pac
  • Global thinker, with a genuine curiosity about the business, external market, external trends impacting diversity & inclusion
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Passion for learning and translating research findings into insights for the organization and practical recommendations
  • Deep commercial and customer acumen – understands the drivers of profit and loss and what drives value for the customer
  • Ability to partner effectively with third parties
