The position would support deugro’s sales structure in the United States to ensure profitable growth of our business, customer satisfaction, and customer relations and retention. The Tender Manager will manage all areas of tender management with particular focus on technical write-ups, bid preparation, answering RFI’s related to global frame agreements and projects.
This position will work closely together with the Regional Management Team, Global Subject Matter Experts, and Business Development throughout the stages of the tendering process focussing on conceptual planning and preparation of Execution Plans, Logistics Studies, and Concepts etc. during the sales phase as well as facilitate a smooth transfer into project operations. In addition, the position leads strategic market analysis, and supports business plans and sales strategies located in Houston, Texas (The Woodlands) for the North American market.
- Bachelor’s Degree with 7-10 years of related experience and/or training .
Requirements:
Tender Manager duties and responsibilities will include the following: Other duties will be assigned.
- Establish supply source, i.e. library for tender management materials for pre-tender, tender, and post-tender oversight and management
- Categorize tenders (around clients and industries) within the aforementioned framework
- Drive the development of tender material with the goal to produce the best tender responses in the industry, helping to distinguish deugro from its competition
- Responsible to provide efficient, accurate, complete and effective responses to our client’s requests for Pre-Qualifications, RFIs, RFPs, and related Questionnaires
- Drive tender strategy in pre-tender, tender, and post-tender stage to optimally position the deugro group and its selling propositions
- Drive global understanding and development of tender management within the deugro group
- Assign and distribute tasks and rate requests to overseas offices and support functions during tendering process
- Establish and identify room for improvement within the area of responsibility and manage the change process
- Develop bid/sales strategies in collaboration with senior management and support functions
- Ensure cooperation with global, regional, and/or country managers on international projects
- Responsible for market research, trends and opportunities in North America
- Represent deugro at sales calls, bid clarification meetings, negotiations, kick-off meetings and industry events
- Prepare marketing initiatives, client and/or project specific write-ups and presentation
- Identify emerging market trends and innovations and develop the required product/service to meet new demands
- Maintain up to date relationship with deugro’s support functions (QHSES, dteq, Finance, Accounting, IT, Compliance)

- Excellent knowledge in all major freight forwarding disciplines, e.g. air, sea, surface transport, specialized heavy and over dimensional transports for industrial projects
