Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES


Job Function
– Oversee the revenue control and reporting aspects of the operation. This position has direct authority over the clerical employees working in the vault and audit departments, and indirect authority in the operation as a whole, working closely with the location management to review current practices, provide support for disciplinary actions resulting from breaches in revenue security, and developing new or changed policies or procedures. Specific job duties include but are not limited to the following:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and train the vault clerks responsible for keeping track of the change funds issued to cashiers and revenue collected throughout the day.
  • Manage, train and work with the Lane Supervisors in the Security Center.
  • Oversee and train the audit clerks, responsible for auditing cashier shifts and exception transactions daily. Provide direction and assistance to the Audit Supervisor, and fulfill their duties if necessary, to ensure that client contract requirements are met.
  • Provide information and support regarding employee concerns that result from audit and revenue procedures. Where necessary, assist HR and Management in attending to Union matters related to said concerns.
  • Process credit card refunds and manual charges daily as needed.
  • Maintain and update database of promissory notes from customers, and process credit card payments from customers during business hours.
  • Complete detailed research on difficult issues brought forth by the audit or vault departments to find the root cause, report findings and suggested solutions.
  • Compile daily revenue data to report on corporate system.
  • Investigate and respond to concerns regarding official city audits or revenue control procedures.
  • Perform complex analysis as needed for business trending, reporting, or client meetings.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements and operating budgets.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least two years of general accounting experience including bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation a plus.
  • Prior management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and solid PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel; AS400 experience a plus.
  • Strong reading, math and analytical skills are a must.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with external clients as well as internal customers.
  • Excellent research, problem solving and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, well organized, Innovative, and self motivated with ability to multi-task.
  • Independent worker able to meet deadlines without reminders.
  • Willing to take ownership of assignments and responsibilities.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Working with the Financial Auditor to determine Best Practices
