Regional Vice President

Reports To: VP of Operations
General Description Directs and coordinates activities involved in operating retail chain stores in an assigned area by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors:
Essential Job Functions include the following, other activities may be assigned:
- Works with Executive team and Store Management to maximize the profitability and efficiency of all assigned locations. Drives the implementation of changes set by top management to align district output and practices with the Company strategy.
- Train, coach, guide, and assist Store Managers with best practices for operational management and for achieving excellent customer service
- Directs compliance of workers with established company policies, procedures, and standards such as safekeeping of company funds and property, personnel and grievance practices, and adherence to policies governing acceptance and processing of customer credit card charges.
Responsibilities
Job Duties: must perform the following duties, as designated by the VP of Operations, in order to achieve essential job functions, other duties may be assigned:
Inspects premises of assigned area stores to ensure that adequate security exists and that physical facilities comply with safety and environmental codes and ordinances.
Oversee management of inventory processes and ensures that all loss prevention procedures are adhered to and shrink targets are achieved.
Reviews operational records and reports of store managers to project sales and to determine store profitability.
Motivates managers and team to achieve goals and continually offer excellent service to our customers.
Utilizes operational reports to uncover opportunities for improvement and work with managers to improve or change any areas that do not align with company expectations and goals.
Making suggestions to VP of Operations that will increase efficiency of store locations by soliciting feedback from store partners, customers, competitive analysis, etc.
Monitors competitorâs product offering, pricing, and merchandising to ensure we are competitive.
Coordinates sales and promotional activities of store managers.
Works with Human Resources Department and store managers in the selection of personnel.
Applies disciplinary actions (when required) in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
Conducts field interviews with potential store personnel to determine staffing levels, and makes and approves payroll change recommendations.
Analyzes marketing potential of new and existing store locations and recommends additional sites or deletion of existing area stores.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages 10-25 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 4-30 partners in the Barton’s and Surplus Warehouse locations. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; 2 to 3 years of multi location management experience or 8-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, partners, or customers of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
