    Pyrolyx USA, Inc. has selected Terre Haute, Indiana as the site for its newest manufacturing location. The 60,000 square foot facility will extract carbon black, oil and metal from end of life tires and will produce raw materials for the rubber and plastics industries.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Quality Systems Manager (QSM) will be in charge of the complete Quality Management System in a recovered carbon black (rCB) production plant in Terre Haute. The QSM will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes.

    Quality management includes quality assurance lab functionalities with multiple different test methods that have to be performed on a daily basis, typical tests and equipment will be: Laser Diffraction Particle size analysis, Thermo Gravimetrical Analysis, Spectrophotometry, Sieve tests, Pellet hardness. This role also includes coordination, administration and supervision of the company ISO 9001/14001 quality management system.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Supports setting up and managing company Quality Management System (Standard ISO 9001 and 14001).

    Assist in documenting missing documentation for QMS, and assisting with internal and external ISO certification or client Audits.

    Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate staff.

    Responsible for ensuring operators are properly trained, assist with testing, and that our highest quality standards are constantly being met.

    Ensure all test results are properly managed and saved in our online records.

    Write and update Standard Operating Procedures for our test methods based on ASTM standards and test methods.

    Generate certificates of analysis to be provided to clients with every shipment.

    Responsible for internal and external calibrations, repairs and service of the equipment.

    Responsible for maintaining documents and manage document database.

    Assist Sales department with client questionnaires regarding product information and regulatory affairs.

    Assess and discuss the requested regulations with R&D Director and Sales department how regulatory questionnaires will be completed.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    BS degree or equivalent professional experience in a Quality leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

    This position will supervise quality lab technicians to ensure sampling, testing, documentation, and reporting protocols are performed to meet ASTM standards.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration in the plant environment.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    This is a full-time position. Normal hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – including break time. Regular work week constitutes of 40 hours, however, work hours may vary based upon plant location and project requirements, including weekends and holidays.

    This position is exempt, and not subject to state and federal minimum wage or overtime laws. Additional overtime compensation is not paid in the event that job responsibilities require more than 40 hours in a particular work week.

    TRAVEL:

    Travel is expected with this position to existing and future Pyrolyx plant locations in the United States and elsewhere.
