Program Manager

Things you should know about working as a Program Manager:
The Program Manager oversees multiple initiatives that are aligned to a specific line of business to ensure the initiatives are aligned with the businessâs overall roadmap. The individual initiatives could be managed by a Project Manager or Project Coordinator. On occasion, the Program Manager may serve as the Project Manager. Program Managers focus on tighter integration, closely-knit communication and coordinating with resource managers to Ensure focus is on the correct priorities within their line of business.
What would success look like?
- Manage a portfolio of initiatives requested by their line of business to ensure the projects are aligned with the business strategy and road map and are on time, within budget, with the right resources without impact to other initiatives.
- Manage relationships with identified key business partners within their line of business â understand the needs of the business and how their requested projects will provide quantitative ROI and qualitative benefits.
- Manage and report the statuses and financials for their program at the appropriate levels to communicate to targeted audience.
- Manage Project Managers and Project Coordinators assigned to their line of business.
- Determine PMO staffing needs for projects in their line of business and use contractor staff to accommodate those needs.
- Determine Program level staffing needs and coordinate with Resource Managers in a timely manner to satisfy those needs.
- Define and execute strategic initiatives as part of the Solutions Management team.
- Ensure that PMO Governance procedures are followed by their team.
- Ensure that their team adheres to key controls to mitigate risks for CCBCC.
- Ensure Issue and Risk Management processes are in place.
- Ensure their Project Managers and Project Coordinators have the tools, systems, and processes needed to perform their role.
- Approve timesheets for Project Managers and Project Coordinators on their team.
- Based on demand, the Program Manager will act as a project manager.
- Manage other strategic initiatives and special assignments as defined by Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, including communications with senior management and executives.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills, and particularly strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated flexibility, self-discipline and ability to work independently, as well as within a group.
- Ability to manage project managers and project coordinators.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple project/program managers and clients.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and timeframes.
- Ability to interact effectively with CCBCC representatives at various levels.
- Ability to perform as a self-starter, with motivation to consistently produce high-quality results.
