Principal SDE Manager – Quantum Development Kit

Be part of the next revolution in computing! In Microsoft Quantum Systems, we are working on developer tools and system software to support a scalable quantum computer. Our team is collaborative, inclusive, agile, passionate, and a community. We develop the Microsoft Quantum Development Kit which includes the compiler, environment, tools, and libraries for programming quantum algorithms. We are working on new Azure Quantum services to help us invite even more people into our industry-leading quantum ecosystem.

You will manage a team of software developers building quantum development tools and libraries. Developers and researchers around the world will use these tools to create their own cutting-edge quantum applications. You will build the quantum IDE experience that will become an Azure Quantum frontend in collaboration with other developer tools teams across Microsoft. You will learn directly from quantum developers who use our products, coordinate key design decisions, drive engineering best practices, contribute to production code, and oversee implementation and schedule.

In addition to providing leadership and management of a team of software developers, an essential focus for this role is to help your team members grow through coaching, career development, and guidance. Active mentoring and team building will be a core responsibility. Being inspired by seeing a computing revolution through to its delivery is essential, including an excitement for quantum computing and empowering people and organizations with its promise.

Prior experience with quantum computing or quantum physics isn’t required. As part of our team you will have ample opportunity to acquire and expand your knowledge in these areas.
