Essential Duties
The Managing Director will be the ABM Aviation representative for operations at JFK. The Managing Director is responsible for the direct oversight of the General Managers, their shift managers, supervisors, and front-line employees assigned to this location. The Managing Director is further responsible for ensuring that productivity levels and customer service requirements are being met and that supervisors and front-line employees are complying with all safety, quality, and compliance standards established by the Company, by our Clients, and by regulatory authorities.
- Monitor and maintain staffing levels with the assistance of the local Human Resources Department and General Managers.
- Accommodate increased / decreased client staffing requests.
- Foster professional relationships with our client representatives. Visit our clients frequently to discuss outstanding issues, concerns, and opportunities.
- Foster professional relationships with the Airport Authority, Badging Department, CBP and TSA.
- Inspire and motivate others to do well.
- Drive results through General Managers to achieve financial targets through effective scheduling, daily labor management and productivity goals.
- Drive results through General Managers to meet all client KPIâs.
- Complete financial projections daily and provide regular updates to Regional Field Finance Director.
- Ensure station expenses are aligned with Budget.
- Participate in monthly Station P&L reviews.
- Grow the station through new business with existing clients.
- Develop new clients and customers in the station.
- Work closely with our human resources team and General Managers to recruit and retain the most customer service driven workforce in the business.
- Deliver world class training programs that ensure your team members remain attentive to each passengerâs personal needs.
- Work closely with our Safety/Quality team to execute a vigorous metric-based safety, quality, and security program.
- Effectively coach, counsel and discipline employees.
- Work with Safety Quality Manager to ensure the safety and security of the operation.
- Set positive, professional example for workforce.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Five (5) or more years management experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.
Previous aviation industry experience preferred.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Budgeting, expense control and scheduling experience.
