Position Highlights:
The Healthcare IT Project Manager at Rush Health leads and facilitates healthcare IT projects to support the transition to value based care, with a particular emphasis on healthcare data ingestion projects to support Rush Health’s value based care analytics strategy. Rush Health is a clinically integrated network of physicians and hospitals working together to improve health through high quality, efficient health services covering the spectrum of patient care from wellness, prevention and health promotion, to disease management and complex care management. It is comprised of more than 2,000 providers in approximately 140 physician practices and four hospitals, including Rush Oak Park Hospital, Rush Copley Medical Center, Riverside Medical Center and Rush University Medical Center. Rush Health pursues population health payment models for an increasing number of lives covered under value based purchasing arrangements in all payer segments.
Rush Health Information Technology provides technology solutions, including contracting systems, population health systems, a health information exchange, and a robust analytics platform to support our Clinically Integrated Network. Our integrated clinical and financial analytics platform allows the quality and cost of our contractual arrangements to be managed and monitored across the continuum of care.
The Healthcare IT Project Manager is a member of the Project Management Office (PMO) at Rush Health and reports to the Senior Director, HIT. This person will work closely with the other members of the Rush Health PMO, Clinical and Business teams, as well as individuals from Rush Health member sites and vendors.
Position Responsibilities:
Governance
Participate at relevant committees reporting to the Rush Health Board of Directors.
Discovery, Planning & Designing
Participate in annual and interim portfolio planning by working with the PMO and Senior Director of Information Technology, project IT and business owners in accordance with Rush Health PMO policies and procedures
Lead integrated project teams in defining project scope and objectives, resource needs, roles/responsibilities, meeting schedules, issue/risk monitoring plans, change management plans, etc.
Work with Applications, Data Management, Business Intelligence teams, and our members to ensure operational workflow design/redesign and all business requirements are completed in accordance with the project planning schedule for all financial, clinical and performance data projects.
Building & Testing
Manage and monitor projects consistent with project scope, requirements, deliverables and timelines in accordance with Rush Health PMO procedures
Maintain and distribute project team and leadership status reports consistent with specified timelines; assist PMO manager in populating Rush Health Governance and Monthly Project Portfolio Dashboards.
Collaborate with the Applications, Data Management and Business Intelligence team to develop, validate and execute testing plans for applications and data management requirements to ensure integrity and quality of data, in line with the project timelines
Training & Implementing
Collaborate with project team to develop training, roll-out and/or go-live schedules and manage overall implementation
Collaborate with the Applications, Data Management and Business Intelligence teams and with members of the Business and/or Clinical teams to develop end-user training programs and/or guides
Aid in facilitating training programs, when applicable
General Project Management and On-going Support
Demonstrate understanding of the strategic alignment of health IT solutions to support value based care.
Understanding of ETL and Data Warehousing concepts; Understanding of health care interoperability and data standards.
Collaborate with the other Healthcare IT Project Managers in achieving shared project goals.
Work closely with the Applications, Data Management and Business Intelligence teams and members of the Business and/or Clinical teams on all projects
Manage all project work teams through the project lifecycle by leveraging Rush Health PMO¡¦s policies and procedures and tool templates.
Assist in identifying opportunities for future projects to improve data collection, utilization and processes that align with Rush Health¡¦s strategic goals.
Develop health care subject matter expertise related to contracts, revenue cycle and care management strategic objectives aligned with specific IT products, interoperability, data standards, business processes, data marts, and BI applications needed for all projects.
Position Qualifications Include:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Healthcare Business Administration and/or a minimum of 5 years of healthcare IT project management experience, required
5+ years of work experience with progressive responsibilities, required
Demonstrated understanding and experience with healthcare data (ex: claims, EHR, lab and/or pharmacy), data management (ETL, data warehouse, business intelligence), performance analytics and systems, required
Strong Interpersonal, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, required.
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools, systems lifecycle implementation and service models, required
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, highly preferred
Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and Visio, required.
Experience with Project Management and/or issue tracking software, preferred.
