General Manager – (US) (preferably Orlando, FL)
We are looking for highly motivated General Manager and Sales professional to lead commercial activities related to the sale of renewable energy products specifically for photovoltaic and battery storage within the United States. Successful candidate shall have not only the ability to execute the complete sales process including the management of proposal generation, strategy development, customer relationship management and contract negotiation but manage the associate P&L and budgets anticipated with launching Gamesa Electric’s business plan within the region. This role is responsible for setting the strategy and driving the business execution within the US. This is a client facing position wherein a candidate will represent Siemens Gamesa and its subsidiary Gamesa Electric (ELE), with hierarchical dependence on the later, for all account / commercial activities. Positive, persistent, self-motivated and action oriented candidates with demonstrated transaction experience are required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop overall strategy for Gamesa Electric PV & Storage business within the US
  • Acting GM for Gamesa Electric within the US, with a clear orientation to achieving results and implementing the company Business Plan for solar and storage
Develop the sales structure of ELE within the US (Client Facing Team as well as local technical sales team within the US) in coordination with sub-region and country heads
  • Understand customer business strategy, organization and key project drivers
Customer Relationship Development (Identify new customers and develop existing ones)
  • Serve as key executive contact with customer, and build long-term and trustworthy relationships with customers, especially with key decision makers
  • Project and Opportunity Development
  • Gather market and customer information and derive strategies for identification and development of new project opportunities
  • Develop and Communicate SGRE ELE Offerings and Value for Customer
  • Support Customer with technical and commercial data on SGRE ELE offerings, including presentations, Indicative Offers etc with involvement from Technical Sales and Marketing, as needed
  • Customer interface throughout bid and contract negotiation phase
Coordinate with SGRE sales KAM for wind products on common customers and cross sales opportunities, and with ELE sales KAM for solar and storage in global accounts
  • Gather customer feedback and market information on ELE products and services, to help identify the future product roadmap of the company
Position Overview
As the General Manager, you will have a high visibility position responsible for leading power electronic initiatives with the Client Facing Team for SGRE ELE. You will also drive year over year order intake growth and achievement verse budget while also developing a large team.
Responsibilities
  • In coordination with sub-region / country heads, develops and executes bookings BTA (Business Target Agreement) & sets sales targets for the assigned sales organization in line with the PL (Product Line) and sub-region / LCB (Lead Country Bundle) targets
  • Maintains active and up-to-date regional bookings forecast through selling team’s use of Salesforce.com and/or Zoho CRM and assessment of sales funnel
  • Maintains the effectiveness of the client facing team – including time and territory analysis, coaching, developmental needs, and coordinates disciplinary actions with CFT’s (Client Facing Team) in-country management
  • Ensures Sub-Region, PL, and SBU (Strategic Business Unit) growth targets are being met
  • Directly supports client facing team in customer visits and negotiations and acts as point of escalation for resolution of customer complaints and claims within the assigned sub-region
  • Manages the aftermarket aspect of the Manufacturer’s Representative agreements and relationships
  • Governs the use of established sales policies / guidelines and procedures among the selling team
  • Clearly communicates the Company’s vision and direction to the client facing team
  • Oversees the LoA (Limits of Authority) process to ensure compliance
  • Segments market and cooperates with Sales Operations and Product Line Management in matters of strategic and tactical product and service positioning

Required Knowledge/Skills, Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field or equivalent years of related experience
  • 8-12 years of experience of related sales and commercial negotiations experience
  • Strong business relationship skills, and network of decision maker contacts within solar and storage EPCs and Utilities within North America
  • Advanced knowledge & experience with MS Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Experience in power electronics equipment, especially in solar and storage at Utility scale market segment
  • Strong communication skills within all levels
  • Forecasting and reporting experience
  • Provide Ability to interact with upper management
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • 10+ years of solar and/or storage experience with OEM, Utility, IPP or Developer at Utility scale market
  • Management Experience
  • Salesforce CRM/Zoho CRM, Tableau, etc.
