Valley Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Director of Utilization Review to join our team!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Review is responsible for the strategic direction setting, management, continuous improvement and maintenance of the Utilization Review Department. This role evaluates efficiency, appropriateness, necessity of the use of services with evidenced based criteria. Duties include, but are not limited to: managing utilization management data and information flow; ensuring that activities are integrated and non-duplicative; overseeing initial certifications and re-certifications as required; ensuring that reviews are completed in a timely manner; receiving, collecting and summarizing utilization-related data and ensuring the department is adequately staffed and trained. In addition, the UR Director prepares at least a quarterly report to be presented to the Medical Staff

Job Requirements


Education:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health treatment setting. A minimum of one year experience in utilization management/review, psychiatric preferred.

Licensure:

  • Current license or Social Work/Counseling license in the state of Arizona.
