Job Summary Position is responsible for developing, coordinating, facilitating, and implementing policies, procedures, short-term goals, and long-term goals to ensure that financial resources are maximized and financial viability is maintained for the achievement of department and organizational objectives. This position will oversee the West Region which covers Cypress, Katy, Southwest, Sugar Land, Memorial City, and Greater Heights.

Three to five years of leadership experience highly preferred. Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field or equivalent experience

Licenses/Certifications: (None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Three (3) years of experience in patient access, patient accounting, and/or financial services preferred

Prior management experience in a hospital business office

Effective oral and written communication skills

Principal Accountabilities

Develops, facilitates, and implements policies, procedures and programs for the most effective control and utilization of financial resources.

Develops a short and long term plan for operation that is compatible with department and organizational goals.

Provides, monitors, analyzes, summarizes, and communicates financial and statistical information to management.

Builds, develops, educates, and motivates a qualified and competent management team and supporting staff.

Participates in the development and evaluation of policies and programs to manage Cash Controls, Customer Service, Imaging, Refunds and business office operations.

Keeps abreast of and communicates all regulations and standards to staff to assure compliance with directives issued by governmental and/or regulatory agencies or third party payors.

Recommends and monitors all Cash Control processes for the hospital system.

Participates in the development, preparation and monitoring of the department budget.

Assures that revenue, expenses, contribution margin and FTE’s meet or exceed budget; prepares and submits budget and related reports; forecasts and accurately projects expenses; takes corrective action to address negative variances; identifies and proposes capital budget items appropriately.

Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
