The AVP Medical Education Operations manages strategic planning and operations management for Medical Education.
Serves as a liaison between departments within Medical Education to assure financial viability and adherence to the regulatory standards and guidelines assigned to departments; as required by their accrediting bodies.
Centralizes and efficiently supports educational initiatives and establish optimal student support and program results.
Manages fiscal resources and financial budget needs.
Essential Functions
- Provides management leadership for Medical Education.
- Develops, manages, and aligns the allocation of fiscal resources and strategic goals.
- Procures and manages grants to support programs.
- Evaluates expansion plans for financial, academic and facility support purposes.
- Organizes and manages programs to focus resources to support internal growth and regional outreach.
- Promotes enhanced education quality by establishing benchmarks and reporting on metrics.
- Maintains day to day business operations for departments.
- Leads education division budget process and monitor budget performance.
- Manages budget process and maintains knowledge for all revenue and expense performance within Medical Education.
- Coordinates academic affairs capital process, operations budget, and financial metrics throughout the year.
- Manages academic affairs contracts.
Physical Requirements
Primarily works in office setting. Majority of time is spent at a desk. Frequently works with computer terminal, calculator and various other office equipment. Required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Responsible for working in a safe manner.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors degree in a related field required.
Masters in Business or Health Administration preferred.
5 years related experience required;
10 years related experience graduate medical education, undergraduate education and post-graduate training preferred.
Strong communication, computer, and personnel management skills required.
Strong financial planning, budgeting, and contracting skills are required.
Direct experience with PeopleSoft Finance, IDX, MedHub, federal and state funding and Education regulatory environment required.
