Responsibilities
The Assistant Vice President position in Corporate Actions will work closely with both internal (investment teams, custodians, compliance, accounting teams) and external (custodians, outside counsel, agents) stakeholders to ensure all voluntary corporate actions events are submitted prior to custodian deadline. In addition, this person will process bank debt amendments, oversee service providers, restructures/private offers, proxy ballots, and class actions.
Responsibilities include:
- Instructing/approving corporate actions events via MT565 through 3rd party system (XSPrisa);
- Approving bank debt amendments through LendAmend;
- Coordinating/processing voluntary/mandatory events with various Oaktree offices;
- Responding to and/or resolving escalated settlement issues by working with custodians and counterparties;
- Process complex corporate actions into Geneva accounting system;
- Ensure all corporate actions are loaded to the accounting system on a timely and accurate basis;
- Facilitating discussions with traders, accountants, reconciliation, and other internal teams to address corporate actions issues; and
- Performing various other tasks and projects as necessary.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of corporate actions experience required
- Experience with all corporate action types including restructures, proxy voting, class actions and knowledge of associated accounting treatments
- Experience working with syndicated loans and associated corporate actions
- General knowledge of U.S. and foreign markets
- Understanding of ISO/SWIFT standards a plus
- Proven problem solving experience including root cause analysis and process improvement;
- Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft products
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Experience working with Geneva and Black Mountain Everest preferred
